The autumn list
Work that fits the van you already know.
Nothing here needs a second crew or a chipper yard. It is the work that belongs on a West Somerset round when the grass slows down.
Hedge shape
After nesting season. Height, length and both-sides-or-one change the job more than the word hedge does.
Leaf clears
Best on the same streets as the lawn round. One visit or a short run of visits while the trees empty.
Border cut-back
Perennials cut, beds cleared, edges found again. A small job on a day I am already there.
Patio and path wash
Moss and summer film off before it gets slippery. Paths, drives, a small terrace.
A proper reset
The garden that got away. Clearance first, then a regular cut if you want one next year.

The cheapest extra work is the job that does not need a new journey. If you are on the Monday Taunton, Wednesday Minehead or Friday Bridgwater book, I would rather do the hedge that day than invent a fourth trip.

Tell me what you want done with it.
Clippings from a lawn cut are tidied as part of the visit. Hedge and clearance waste is a different volume. Leave it, chip it on site where I can, or ask me to take it. A car-boot load is not the same job as a van full.
Autumn questions
When should the last lawn cut be?+
When growth actually stops — not a calendar date. Most West Somerset lawns want cuts into October. I will not invent visits once the grass is sitting still.
Is it too late to cut the hedge?+
Late summer into autumn is the sensible window, once nesting is finished. A hard reduction in midwinter is a different conversation — say how far you want it taken back.
Do you price this from the website like a lawn?+
No. Open-access lawns get a guide price from the same book I use in the van. Hedges, leaves and tidy-ups come back as a proper look. I reply myself, usually the same day.
Can this sit on my usual day?+
Often, yes. That is the point. If the day is already full I will say so and offer the next working day that already has your area on it. Sunday is never a working day.
